Rainy Day Video Constitutional
This 15-year-old girl going all beat-box on a flute is amazing. I would have been friends with more floutists in high school if they were able to do this.
I didn't want to post this because I didn't want to give this damn "church" any more publicity, but it's the Foo Fighters, and this helps to prove their awesomeness.
Once again I missed the Emmys, and these clips make me wish I hadn't.
Here's Jane Lynch's full intro. Most of it is only slightly below average, but the Mad Men stuff is wonderful. I tried to cut out the bad stuff, but I couldn't. If I did this correctly, though, the video should start at the right time.
I've never watched Mike & Molly, so I don't know how deserving the winner for Best Actress in a Comedy Series was, but I refuse to believe she was better than Pollen, Fey or Plimpton. Regardless, the presentation of nominees and the winner's speech were excellent.
This was my favorite of the dreadful Emmytones. I felt bad for Joel McHale and Zachary Levi, only slightly bad for Colby Smothers.
Despite the talent involved in this (Andy Samburg, Emma Stone, Bill Hader, Zach Galifiankis, Seth Rogen, Ken Jeong, Ed Helms, Emma Stone, Samuel L. Jackson ['cause he's in everything], Aziz Ansari), it's a big pile of meh at best. But hey, it's funny people delivering bad Star Wars lines, so there's a BIT of entertainment to be had, and Emma Stone is just a delight to watch.
I don't have time to watch all the late-night talk shows that I want to, so I'm glad highlights are almost instantly available. And I applaud Conan for his reaction to Nicole Scherzinger's bust (PUN!).
I like Joseph Gordon-Levitt as much as the next guy, but this movie looks like a joke. It looks like the plot of a '90s action movie with dialogue that is just corny as hell.
This trailer has no dialogue, just two minutes of pure action and violence, and I want to see the movie so badly now. And the music is by Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park, so that's a plus.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia outtakes? I guess I know what I'm going to be doing this morning.
More Star Wars fun! This time we let Porkins have the day he deserves.
And here we have Vader reacting to various things.
I watched this video, like, 10 times and I STILL don't know how to play rugby. And I'm sleepy.

Probably for the rest of the month I’m going to whore myself out with an impassioned plea: click on the ads. PLEASE click on the ads. I don’t care if you exit it out of it immediately or actually look around. This isn’t some professional blog where I believe in the products I’m shilling. These are automatic ads placed by Google. But my experiment this weekend proved to me that I actually AM making a spot of cash whenever the ads are clicked. So I’m going to put this little disclaimer on the bottom of all my posts for the next month or so, and I hope you’ll take an extra 10 seconds after reading my blog to click on an ad. Thanks so much!

Friday Video Dump
This is a joke, right? This has to be a joke. Just 'cause they're girls doesn't make them bad basketball players. I don't know what this is, though. They play like they're all 5 years old, but they look like they're in high school. And then a dunk is attempted. Facepalm.
New Will Ferrell movie? Yes please!
Not that I'm promoting or advocating the crime against nature that is non-alcoholic beer, but this is a pretty funny commercial. And please ignore where this video came from.
This movie doesn't look all that great to me, but I really like Ryan Reynolds, so here's a trailer for Paper Man.
Well, I don't much care for the song, but it is more fitting to Kick-Ass than the Mika song/video that was released a couple of weeks ago.
Drunk Comic Book History: The Robins. Comic book fans who enjoy Drunk History should enjoy this.
Conan O'Brien singing Creep by Radiohead. It's slightly awesome.

Black Snake Moan (Movie Review)
First off, I wasn’t expecting Justin Timberlake. I’m coming into this movie knowing two things and two things only. First, it stars Christina Ricci and Sam Jackson, and second, at some point Sam keeps Christina chained up in the yard. So yeah, there’s Justin Timberlake in his cammos, lookin’ like he’s shippin’ out. I like Justin Timberlake. There. I said it, and it’s on the interwebs, so I can’t take it back. I like about half of his music, and I’ve enjoyed what little acting I’ve seen him do (Saturday Night Live and some movie with Sarah Michelle Gellar and The Rock).
Ah, Sam Jackson. Regardless of his haircut or whatever facial hair he might have, however he’s dressed, whatever type of character he’s supposed to be playing, he is always the same. I don’t mind that, though. While it could be argued that Pulp Fiction is the best thing he’s ever done or been in, I still enjoy him as an actor. A blues singer, though, not so much.
I also can’t pass up a decent Christina Ricci movie, providing it ain’t too weird. I find her oddly alluring, big forehead and all. She’s very white trash in this movie.
First and foremost, this is a movie about redemption, about facing down your demons and walking away, maybe not unscathed, but walking away a little better for having done it. Other than a preacher and the Lt. from Law & Order, everybody in this movie is screwed up somehow.
Christina’s character, Rae, has an abusive past that leaves her a sexual addict. Not a girl who likes to have sex a lot, but a girl who NEEDS it, who starts having withdrawal symptoms if she goes too long without it.
Sam Jackson’s character, Lazarus, is a former blues guitarist, a farmer, and a drunk whose wife left him for his brother. He finds Rae one morning lying in the road in front of his house. She was stoned, beaten, almost raped, and kicked out of pickup truck. Lazarus is of course concerned and wants to help this poor girl, so he takes her inside, cleans her wounds, gets some medicine for her cough, and then chains her to the radiator. Good fun!
I don’t know if I can really recommend this movie in good conscience. I don’t feel like I wasted two hours by watching it, but I figure others might feel that way. I realize that redemption shouldn’t be an easy road to walk, but damn, Lazarus and Rae sure don’t take any shortcuts. If you do end up watching it, be prepared to slog through some rough shit, some juvenile, high-school, misogynistic shit, before getting to any semblance of a movie that might be worth something. You’ll see Christina Ricci’s tits, you’ll see some attempted rape, a bit of drug use, some light kidnapping, and some bondage with a big-ass chain. But there is some hope. And that’s what we’re left with. Not a handful of fully healed people, but some people who are on their way to being healed.
