I like Steve Martin. I think The Jerk might very well be the best comedy film of all time. But I’ve been wary about watching this movie. Maybe because it’s in black and white (don’t ask, it’s a thing), maybe because it’s a spoof of old detective movies, something I’ve never been into. But a friend recommended it, and it was on OnDemand for free, so what’s the harm, right?Well, I’m sorry Beau. I made it about a half an hour into it and had to turn it off. It just wasn’t working for me. The thing with the clips from old noir movies being edited in, that was clever, but the novelty wore off after the first few times.
Maybe I’ll try this movie again in the future. We’ll see.
