A lot is to be expected from a new video by this group. Every one has to be a spectacle, and I have not seen one of their videos yet that I haven't been impressed by. This new one continues that streak.
Here's the description: "OK Go set up over 1000 instruments over two miles of desert outside Los Angeles. A Chevy Sonic was outfitted with retractable pneumatic arms designed to play the instruments, and the band recorded this version of Needing/Getting, singing as they played the instrument array with the car. The video took 4 months of preparation and 4 days of shooting and recording. There are no ringers or stand-ins; Damian took stunt driving lessons. Each piano had the lowest octaves tuned to the same note so that they'd play the right note no matter where they were struck."

I may be loosing interest in their music as each CD seems to be worse than the previous (I still absolutely love their debut album), but their singles are usually always catchy, and the videos just flat-out kick ass.

Jonah Hill's new movie The Sitter seems quite funny. Kind of looks like Adventures in Babysitting, except a lot dirtier. Also, since I'm such a kind a giving soul, turn your speakers down when the preview starts, or make sure you're not at work...like I was.
I wouldn't watch this version of Star Wars, but I'd watch this video one more time. A girl who has never seen the original trilogy tries to explain what happened.

Every time Kanye West opens his mouth, I want to punch it. I dig some of his music, though. And I like Jay-Z a lot more. So I'm not totally against this new collaboration, and I kind of like the song...that is until the end when Kanye just starts screaming in a little girl voice.
If you can get past the EXTREME!!!! douchiness of the two performers (one moreso than the other), this is some pretty awesome music. Cello duets of pop/rock songs. I think "Smells Like Teen Spirit" really works on the cello.
I'm not a huge magic fan, but I appreciate a good trick...sorry, ILLUSION, because we all know what tricks are. Here are a couple that fool even the great Penn and Teller.
With all the shit I've been through the past two years, it makes me feel very happy that I still believe in love. This video of this surprise wedding is awesome and touching and it gives me faith that love does exist (despite what Bleu sings), and y'know, I'm SOOO looking forward to finding it again.
And then there's this proposal from Chicago Comic Con this year. You can't hear the proposal unless you turn your speakers up all the way, but that doesn't matter. You need to watch it for the end. Fucking epic.
Well, it had to happen. Epic Meal Time finally did a bad video. Looks like they just kind of phoned this one in. I like them because they create these awesome (one might say epic, even) meals, but that was not the case this time.

Why have I not watched any of the non-album tracks from The Lonely Island?
I kind of have to see Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance because I really like Idris Elba, but was a sequel really necessary? Or wanted? I will say this, the effects look pretty damn awesome.

I was so disappointed when I heard that Locke & Key was not picked up. I know a pilot was finished, and I know it was screened at SDCC this year. I hope that it somehow becomes available to the public. Until then, here's the trailer for what we can't watch.
I’ve got a lot of music but limited space to hold it in, especially in my car. So I’ve gone the old tried-and-true way of making mix CDs to have access to as many bands as possible while driving. I’m going slightly old-school since I’m a bit backwards and have no iPod.
Most of the songs will be more upbeat, with probably only the occasional ballad or slower song included. I like to sing in the car, and the more upbeat songs are more fun to sing.
I’ll be going in alpha-numeric order with these, so if you’re wanting to argue with me about what Weezer songs should be included, you’re going to be waiting for a while.
My only limitations are that I use 80 min. discs, and I’m only going to use one disc per band/artist. I will make exceptions for only my most favorite bands with huge playlists (Foo Fighters and Self, off the top of my head), but I’d really like to boil everything down to just one disc.

A few notes on Ok Go:
While I have the same number of songs from their first two CDs, I actually REALLY like the first one, and then the next two go downhill from there. I really don’t know if I would have included “This Too Will Pass” had the video, both of them, been so awesome.
‘Cause really, ALL of their videos are awesome, and I think that’s what they’re best known for now instead of their music. Well-choreographed videos, Rube Goldberg videos, all done impressively in one take.
I think what I really liked about Ok Go as opposed to Oh No is the quirkiness of the first CD. Sometimes you need a quirky song rather than one with a deeper meaning.
And I had to include all of their awesome videos as well as a couple for songs I just like. I even included videos for songs I didn’t include on the mix. They’re just that good.
When I finally finish my comic book and it’s optioned for a big-budget movie, “Invincible” will be on the soundtrack.

Oh, how I really really really wish this would have been the opening to Iron Man 2. I was SOOOO disappointed when I didn't see the Pepper-kissing-the-helmet scene that played in almost all the trailers. I guess I kind of get that Favreau wouldn't want to open the movie with a hungover Stark, y'know, with a bunch of kids watching it, but that logic gets shot down once Stark and Rhodey slug it out while Tony is smashed.
If only they would have made fun of Bill saying "Sookie" in his horrible accent. It's still better than Katy Perry.
Oh my goodness. I can't afford to see all the movie I want to see in the theater. The new Harry Potter movie, though, will get my money. Both parts of the finale.

Supernatural vs. Lonely Island: Supernatural (In My Pants)

I heard about Winter's Bone when it was at Sundance. Definitely not a feel-good film, but sounds pretty interesting.
I like Ok Go. I like the Colbert Report. And Stephen's interviews and subsequent performances with musical guests are always great. Here's "This Too Shall Pass" from Ok Go as seen last Friday on the Colbert Report.
I'm not the biggest Coheed and Cambria fan, but what I do like by them, I really like. This song sounds pretty good, and the video isn't half bad either. And for all you comic book fans, see if you can guess who shows up around the :57 mark.
"He knows the score, he gets the girls, and he kills the bad guys." This looks like the most awesome B-movie with a great mix of A- and B-list actors. I really want this movie to be insanely good.

Here's the pilot for a new British show that I was excited about 2 months ago, then forgot about it. It looks like it's going to happen. It stars and is written by David Cross, and Will Arnett shows up for a bit. The beginning is pretty funny, then it stalls a bit in the middle, but it makes up for it in the end. Hmm, I wonder how I'll ever watch this show if it's only on in the UK? ;)
Okay, who rolled their eyes when they found out that there was going to be a MacGruber movie? Show of hands. Yeah, that's what I thought. Well, even if the movie is lame, this first trailer is pretty good.
