Terrapin Wake 'n' Bake Coffee Oatmeal Imperial Stout

From the website:
"This is a full bodied imperial stout with flavorful coffee taste and aroma. Black as night, this coffee stout is thick, rich and full of flavor. It includes a special blend of coffee created by Terrapin and Jittery Joe’s Coffee."
Wow. This is definitely one of my top three stouts, right there with Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout and Mackeson's XXX Stout.

I might have poured this extremely thick beer incorrectly, but it poured with almost no head, and what little there was was a deep brown. The beer itself was as black as sin with no translucence at all. It's like a black hole of beer.

I couldn't get enough of the aroma. It was like a freshly brewed pot of high-quality, gourmet coffee.

All this was a wonderful set-up for the actual tasting, drinking, and enjoying of the beer.

It had a heavy coffee flavor with only a hint of the 8.1% alcohol content on the back end. Once you get used to the coffee taste, though, the alcohol really starts to show up.

I highly recommend this beer for anyone who likes their stouts thick and heavy, and to any coffee lover. I know there are those out there who hate to have their beers "ruined" with flavors, but this is a good marriage of beer and coffee, and this is a beer that I will definitely be drinking again.
